Peated bourbon is a bourbon whiskey that conforms to the American requirements, but is made with malted barley that has been exposed to peat smoke, a more common practice in Scotch whiskies. So it's a very scotch-like bourbon, flavorful and robust from having aged in a new barrel, but not as sweet as a traditional bourbon. Aged about 18 months, this bourbon was the brainchild of Rob Easter from Workhorse Rye, who first put the recipe into barrels.
